Flashbang, A Girl and A Gun, and CNN, Oh My!

Today started out like any other weekday.  I got up before the crack of dawn, went to work and did the typical work stuff, ate lunch, went back to work and did some more, and then went home.  Sounds exciting doesn't it?  Well, tonight turned out to be a very interesting night.

What am I talking about?  Most of you have probably already figured out that I am a member of A Girl and A Gun Women's Shooting League because of several of our posts.  There was a Girl's Night Out event tonight at Shady Oaks range (review coming soon) in Cedar Park.  It is our new home range for our Girl's Night Out events.  This event is just what it sounds like.  A chance for the girls to get out to the range, hang out, have a good time, and eat some Mexican food afterwards of course.  Our event was a little different tonight because we had a holster clinic prior to our range time.

Now, Gene and I love Flashbang so much that we had decided to start selling their products.  Flashbang not only makes holsters, but they also make a wide array of belts for men and women.  They even introduced a new women's competition belt this year.  Since they have both the men's Prohibition line and women's Flashbang line it made perfect sense for us to offer their products.  We have samples from both lines so I can be the female model and Gene can be the male model.  Wait, did I say model? Um, what I meant was "representative". Haha!

This was my first demonstration tonight and so of course I was a little nervous, but that was to be expected.  To make things more interesting we had company during our event tonight, and by company I mean CNN.  They are doing a story about women and shooting and our club will be one of the feature stories.  Not only did I stand up in front a group of people (most of them friends which made it easier), but I did it for the first time being taped for a TV show.  That was a little crazy.

I think it went very well and the women enjoyed being able to see and handle all of the products.  I think that it is safe to say that I should not ever be nervous about doing another demonstration after tonight. Thanks A Girl and A Gun and thanks CNN for this opportunity!

There are actually times that Gene and I don't shoot together and that is when I am with the girls from A Girl and a Gun. We miss being at the range with each other, of course, but it is nice to have some "girl time" every once in a while and Gene is very supportive of this time and of the group.

We are planning to offer Flashbang products for sale on our blog, so be sure to check them out.
